Day 9—10 November 2011
Years ago, while visiting Granny/GG in Arizona, we four were introduced to Republic of Tea at a restaurant. Just last year, we were reintroduced to it at Seasons 52 (If you have one near you, I highly recommend it; if you’re near us, I have specific waiter recommendations, too). My flavor of choice is decaf ginger peach, iced.
After several special trips to Whole Foods (not my usual store), I finally decided to make a bulk order directly from Republic of Tea. I was amazed that my order was delivered in less than 24 hours; but, the pleasant surprises didn’t end there. When I opened the box, I was greeted with the most delicious aroma. I took the tea out and put it away. But, as I was taking the box to recycling, I noticed that it was the packing material that was responsible. Then I realized that they used the excess paper from their tea bags (what’s left after they fill/close/cut out the round tea bags) as their packing material. No waste!
