Day 348—14 October 2012 Après-treat treat After seeing “Kinky Boots” with GAB & SNED this afternoon, the six of us had treats at the Palmer House. This looked better than it tasted—it wasn’t bad; it’s just that Susan, Gail, or I could have done better. I heard that the cheese puffs were delicious. The show was great fun, and the company was sublime! What a great way to end the weekend!

DH wasn’t the only busy bee this weekend. Once the leaf sweeper came through, practically every intersection throughout the neighborhood was more than 50% blocked by leaf mountains. Oy! While (essentially) lifelong friend Judy’s birthday was yesterday; tonight we were among Don and Steve’s guests at a lovely dinner party to celebrate. Don made delicious recipes from Suzette’s (Judy’s mom) cookbook. Start to finish, the food and company were delightful. One of my favorite new recipes this year is Mexican slow-cooked pork carnitas. After wasting leftover peppers several times, DH discovered this miniscule can, which turns out to hold the exact number of peppers we need for the recipe.
