2011 November Launch
Read MoreDay 322—18 September 2012 Reunion I worked in a pediatrician’s office during high school—the best job! It was a real family affair: the two doctors (Herbert and Ruth) were/are married; the office manager (Camille) was/is a dear family friend; and each of the doctors’ children (Claude, Peter, and Heidi) worked in the office, in turn—filing, cleaning/stocking the rooms, running errands, etc. When they ran out of kids, the recruiting began. Heidi recruited Debbie R, who recruited me when she went off to college. I was welcomed into the family. In my first year or so there, Heidi came in to help me with the monthly billing, and we’d have a blast chatting while we worked. But, it’s been 31 years since she moved to England. Thanks to the wonders of Facebook (say what you will about it), I was able to make lunch plans with Heidi and her dad today. I also met brother Peter’s wife, Nina (who made our delicious lunch—thanks, Nina!), and visited with Peter for a few minutes. If only time didn’t pass so quickly!
