Day 83—23 January 2012 Comfort What can I say--it’s Monday. Even though I got a fair number of great things done today, and re-watched “The Rocker” with NTS (no classes for teacher institute) before his rehearsal, the day fell apart. Frazzled, Tom and I headed to The Cheesecake Factory for a little comfort food (we shared the Cajun Chicken Littles and a piece of Kahlua Cocoa Coffee cheesecake). Super extra bonus: We were well-served by Lea—one of our favorite waiters. Aaah—that’s better!

Bad [expensive] things come in threes?</b>
This is a superstition I’m willing to accept, <i>if</i> it means we’re done with house purchases for a bit. You’ll remember that we replaced a toilet the day after Christmas, and we replaced our range this past week. Today, it’s the kitchen faucet and sprayer. During Thanksgiving break, I promised NOS I would make whoopie pies for him. Today, I finally got around to it. I might be inclined (after a suitable recovery period) to try another recipe; but, today’s experiment wasn’t an unqualified success. I was, unhappily, back at Target today, because (yet again) an essential item didn’t get put on the list when the last one was opened. However, as Band-Aid tells me on the box flap, I will be just fine—now that I have Animal bandages.
