Marching to dinner
Every year, at least once during Band Camp, the kids march to someone’s house for dinner. DH and I happened to be out when we saw the band approaching, so we pulled over to watch them go by. NTS has his mallets in the air.

I love fu!</b>
I have a long, and sometimes ambivalent, relationship with fu dogs. Granny the Great has a pair of ceramic fu dogs that were long ago made into lamps. Apparently, when I was very young, I was afraid of them. I think you might be too, if they were staring at you when you were trying to sleep. But, I’ve been a little in love with them for as long as I can remember. Someday, they’ll be guarding our house. This one was a wonderful discovery on my walk through Citizen’s Park today with Dawn [yes, its mate is across the path]. Happy new (school) year!</b>
Yesterday was the first day of school for NTS. At tonight’s first home game of the season, he had the honor of singing the Anthem, in addition to his regular duty on the drumline.
