Like a kid near Christmas Tom’s new helmet—1 April 2013 DH had such a great time at B’s party that he has geared up and registered for an adult hockey clinic nearby. He’s counting down the days (currently 4). His ginormous bag is already packed and unceremoniously sitting in the family room; but he proudly showed me various features of his new helmet.

In August, The Alma Mater statue was removed for much-needed restoration. Because there is a strong tradition of having a graduation photo taken with Alma, the plan was for a May 4 return to campus—a week in advance of commencement. Unfortunately, the damage was even more severe than expected. A couple weeks ago, I celebrated this tree’s 11th anniversary. In that time, we’ve gone from winter to spring to summer weather (and we’re about to drop 30 degrees again, and get more rain). I’m just glad conditions allowed me to shoot as soon as it bloomed (about 6 weeks later than last year).
