I was drawn to these, and then amused by the name. My immediate thought was of the completely unrelated “Mrs. Slocombe” in the BBC series “Are You Being Served?” I searched on Perry Slocum (you may want to, also), and learned that this is the most-popular and largest-selling lotus in North America.
